Rostov-on-Don's Climate
Rostov-on-Don lies in southern Russia on the River Don near the Sea of Azov, amid the vast steppe, giving it a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons and a wide temperature range. Summers (June–August) are hot and fairly dry, with daytime highs usually 28–33°C and sometimes above 35°C during heatwaves; winters (December–February) are cold, cloudy, snowy and frosty, typically around -3 to -8°C. Spring and autumn are short but pleasant. A signature feature is the strong, dry steppe winds that can blow in any season.
