Ufa's Climate
Ufa sits in the Ural region as the capital of Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, near the border of Europe and Asia, far inland with a classic humid continental climate. Winters (November–March) are long, very cold and snowy, typically -12 to -18°C, with harsh spells below -25°C and rivers that freeze over. Summers (June–August) are short but warm, around 20–26°C, punctuated by afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while spring and autumn are fast transitions of slushy thaw or crisp air with early frosts. Precipitation is fairly even through the year.
