Voronezh's Climate
Voronezh lies in the black-earth (chernozem) belt of southwestern Russia, on the Voronezh River near the Don basin, deep inland with a humid continental climate and four distinct seasons. Summers (June–August) are warm and sometimes hot, with daytime highs usually 24–29°C, bringing showers and thunderstorms. Winters (December–February) are cold and snowy, typically -6 to -12°C, with cold snaps dropping below -20°C. Spring and autumn are brief, changeable transitions; rain falls year-round but peaks in summer.
