Makassar's Climate
Makassar is a major port city on the southwest coast of Sulawesi, Indonesia, just south of the equator, with a hot, humid tropical monsoon climate and steady temperatures of 27–33°C year-round. Two seasons stand out under the monsoon: a wet season (November–April) that is humid with heavy showers and thunderstorms, peaking in December–February when the northwest monsoon blows hardest, and a drier season (May–October) with more sunshine and calmer seas. Humidity stays high and the sun is intense almost all year.
