Palembang's Climate
Palembang sits in southeastern Sumatra, Indonesia, straddling the Musi River just a few degrees south of the equator, so it stays hot and humid year-round under a tropical rainforest climate (Af). Temperatures are remarkably steady, with daytime highs usually 30–33°C, nights around 23–25°C and consistently high humidity. The main wet season runs from November to April with near-daily showers and thunderstorms, while mid-year from June to September is relatively drier though still rainy, and this is when smoke haze from forest and peatland fires can appear.
